Most of today's high-end smartphones and handsets come with microSD memory card slots that support capacities of up to 32GB, and it appears that it should not be too long before the first such cards make an appearance inside phones too. EDGE Tech Corp has just announced the upcoming availability of its first 32GB microSDHC Memory Card (Class 4), featuring a price tag of $99.95 when made available for purchase.

According to the company, its solution represents the largest capacity microSDHC card on the market, and should prove a great option for users looking to significantly increase the available storage space on their devices.

The U.S.-based supplier of DRAM and flash memory upgrades has already placed the card on its website with a “coming soon” tag attached to it.

Often, mobile phone users turn to microSD and microSDHC card for expanding the available memory on their handsets, so as to be able to carry around a larger number of photos, videos, songs or personal files, and EDGE's solution should appeal to many of them.

“Today’s smartphone market is making an incredible impact on daily life,” EDGE Tech Corp Product Development Manager, Brandon Coles, stated.

“Consumers are saving the same amount of photos, music, videos, and other files on their phones as they have on their home computers. Larger mobile phone capacities are needed to meet these storage demands, and a 32GB card makes that easy.”

According to the company, the EDGE 32GB microSDHC Memory Card should offer enough storage space for storing approximately 21,000 photos, 8,000 MP3 files, or 32 hours of HD video.

Moreover, the Class 4 speed rating the card comes with ensures that users would benefit from consistent transfer speed of at least 4MB/s.

The EDGE memory card also comes with a full-size SDHC adapter, which is aimed at increasing its versatility.

With this solution, users can transform the microSDHC card into a full-size SDHC card, which would them make it easy to use with devices that accept SDHC.
