Two new mobile phones are set to soon make an appearance on 3 UK's network, namely the recently announced HTC Wildfire, and the BlackBerry Pearl 3G smartphone. 3 UK thus becomes the second wireless carrier in the country to confirm the launch of Research In Motion's new smartphone, and also the third one to announce plans to launch the new Android-based HTC Wildfire on its airwaves.

HTC's latest Android 2.1-based mobile phone comes to the market with all the features that one would like to have in a smartphone, while sporting a rather affordable price tag. The handset enables one click communication, puts together social networking updates, emails, texts and images in a single place. Moreover, it offers access to a wide range of applications via the Android Market, so that one can take advantage of all the features of the device.

“It’s great to be adding the HTC Wildfire to our ever growing Android range. The HTC Wildfire brings together your communications platforms, making sure you never miss an update, message or tweet. When staying in touch on the move a strong 3G network like ours is necessary. Pairing this affordable Android phone with our network continues to give our customers great smartphone choices. We’ll be announcing dates and pricing shortly,” Sylvia Chind, 3UK head of Branded Devices, said.

As for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, the wireless carrier is reportedly getting ready to stock the device within the following weeks. The phone comes with a larger screen than its predecessor, with a built-in GPS receiver and Wi-Fi connectivity, and with a 12-button keyboard layout. The new handset is capable of offering support for 3G connectivity options, which means that users should be able to enjoy faster access to the Internet and to social networking sites. The wireless carrier hasn't unveiled specific details on when the device should land, but announced that pricing and store release dates should emerge shortly.
