3 Loves Motorola and Introduces the RAZR2 V9

- The popular and slim Moto clamshell

By: Florin Troaca, Communications News Editor

3, the largest 3G mobile network in the UK, announced that as of today, the 13th of March, it reintroduces Motorola mobile phones
in its products line-up, starting with the popular RAZR2 V9.

No Motorola handsets were offered by 3 in the last 18 months, as the carrier preferred other brands like Sony Ericsson and Nokia, but the release of RAZR2 V9 shows that 3 doesn't have anything against Motorola. In fact, 3 is really happy to work again with the American company and believes its products will help in satisfying the consumers. "Motorola’s renewed focus on powerful 3G handsets like the RAZR2 V9 means we can welcome them back into 3’s growing portfolio. A strong roadmap and some compelling products will help us give our customers the best possible choice of 3G phones," said Fergal Walke, 3’s Director of Products.

Motorola RAZR2 V9 is a slim clamshell that was first introduced in 2007 and came with a sleek design as well as a range of nice features. The phone offers tri-band GSM and HSDPA 2100 connectivity, an external touch-sensitive 2 inch display with 240 x 320 pixels, and internal 2.2 inch display with the same 240 x 320 pixels resolution, GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0, Opera 8 browser, Instant Messaging, Music player (MP3, AAC and AAC+ support), Java MIDP 2.0 and a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording.

The RAZR2 V9 measures 103 x 53 x 13.3 millimeters (when closed), weighs 125 grams and also packs a powerful processor that enables it to perform tasks 10 times faster than the RAZR V3. Furthermore, V9's battery is a Li-Ion 950 mAh one that should provide up to 3.5 hours of talk-time and about 260 hours of stand-by time.

3 didn't announce Moto RAZR2 V9's price yet, but we assume it can't be a high one.
