Home-made face creams are a real treat

It's every woman's desire to look young and fresh for as long as possible. And while unfortunately, we can't hold off the aging process forever, we can take as good care of your skin as possible, exercise and eat the right kind of food for a balanced, healthy existence. Although we live in the age of consumerism, when everything around us tells us that we need to buy as
much as possible in order to feel content, it's a good idea to give our skin an occasional break from the over-hyped products available on the market and treat ourselves with some home-made remedies. They have the double benefit of being easy to prepare and allowing us to actually make contact with the ingredients we use, smell and touch them, rather than simply smear a ready-made, over-processed paste on our faces day and night. Have a weekend off your usual face creams, try one of these home-made recipes and see if you feel the difference.

1. Anti-wrinkle egg cream

What you need:

2 tablespoons of cucumber juice
1 egg white
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon rum or brandy
½ tablespoon sodium benzoate / or tincture of benzoin
Beat the egg until crisp and then gradually blend in the rest of the ingredients. Keep the mixture in the refrigerator for 1 - 2 hours, then massage it into your face and neck. Leave it on for 10 - 15 minutes, than rinse your face with warm water.

2. Anti-wrinkle apricot cream

What you need:

2 tablespoons almond oil
2 tablespoons beeswax
4 tablespoons apricot extract
½ tablespoon lemon juice
Melt the beeswax in a pan over a low flame, then blend in the almond oil, lemon juice and the apricot extract, mixing thoroughly. Refrigerate for 2 hours, then mix it into your face and neck with circular movements. Suits all skin types.

3. Anti-wrinkle cucumber cream

What you need:

3 tablespoons grated cucumber
½ tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon brandy
1 egg white
½ tablespoon tincture of benzoin

Blend all the ingredients together and refrigerate the cream for at least two hours. Then massage it into your face and neck using your fingertips and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse your skin with warm water mixed with a few drops of lemon juice. Enjoy!
