A mass shooting took place yesterday, in a spa near Brookfield Square Mall in Brookfield, Milwaukee, in the state of Wisconsin. Three women are dead and four other were transported to hospital with gunshot wounds.

The suspect was found dead, presumably from a self-inflicted wound, inside the spa. Brookfield Police Department spokesmen have stated that 45-year-old Radcliffe Haughton has been identified by witnesses as the shooter.

His body was found inside the spa, the man having been shot from a small distance. The angle of the shot also suggests that the wound was self-inflicted.

The two-story Azana Day Spa was located across the street from a major shopping mall. Fire was opened at the around 11 a.m., and 7 workers and customers were wounded, three of which suffered fatal injuries.

According to the Dallas News, the suspect's girlfriend was working at the spa. He had been stalking the woman for a while, before she filed for a court order against the man from Brown Deer, Wisconsin.

A four-year restraining order had been issued against the man, one day before the shooting. He had been ordered to surrender all firearms.

The suspect reportedly chased one woman in the street with a fire arm, but was not able to bring her back to the spa and returned inside.

“She ran right out into the street was pounding on cars,” eye witness David Gosh of nearby West Allis stated.

Investigators found the scene filled with smoke, after Haughton started a fire in the building. A 1-pound propane tank was also discovered, and authorities were prompted to look for explosive devices at the scene. A bomb squad searched the scene extensively, but found no such device.

Mayor Steve Ponto has dubbed this “a senseless act on the part of one person,” on Sunday night. Survivors are currently recovering in hospital. They are aged 22 to 40, and were able to identify the gunman.
