It has become some sort of a tradition for the AppStore editors to release weekly suggestions for the best iOS apps that fit into the Productivity Category. This time, we have three very good calendaring apps that will help you throughout the year.

When it comes to calendaring apps, the design makes more sense if you can see more stuff on your screen and if the developer has made it easy to navigate your events and add new ones. The AppStore has plenty Calendar apps so in the end you just have to pick and choose your favorite.

The first one for this week is a Free app – UpTo Calendar. This app syncs with Google Calendar, iCloud, and Outlook among others and it features a simple and elegant design. You have a complete view of everything coming up on your day and the clutter-free experience may tempt you to get away from the stock Calendar.app. UpTo Calendar makes it easy to follow calendars from your favorite sports teams, upcoming concerts or TV Shows schedule.

Your second choice is also free and the good thing about it is that you can find this app on most devices. Sunrise Calendar will basically have the same functionality as the app we've described above, but the design looks different. Real-time synchronization with background updates and natural language events in Google Calendar makes this app a pretty good alternative.

However, Sunrise Calendar has a twist. The developers have included Google Maps so you can get to your next meeting right within the app.

And last, we have Tempo Smart Calendar, an app that can be yours for the same zero dollars price. This one works with Google Calendar and exchange, but it adds a few other features that may prove to be useful if you live your life in a Calendar app. You get to call your contacts and send short predefined email like "running late" to the whole team.

You can link this app to your LinkedIn, Twitter and other databases so you can pool more info about your contacts. You also have access to maps, complete with directions and drive time. Tempo Smart Calendar lets you add Reminders to your default iOS app, post birthday greetings to your Facebook friends' walls or review emails and documents before a big meeting.

Have you decided what you like more? We think you should try to master the default Calendar app on your iPhone and iPad and only then try some of these alternatives.
