The Cubo Elements Stardust from Sonoro Audio: 3,900 Swarovski crystals on its case

In the world of high-end radios, Sonoro is a well-known name, similar to refined excellence and great technologies, all packed in the niftiest shapes around. While spearheading the radio design movement, it looks like Sonoro are at the same time willing to make uncanny experiments involving their gear and thus releasing exclusive gadgets. It's the case of their Cubo Elements Stardust radio, a piece of technology that's really hard to define properly: jewelry and art or kitsch-laden tech?

It's rather difficult to understand what drives audio gadget manufacturers to go for the diamond-looks: the already rich-look Cubo has transformed in its blinged-up-tech counterpart and we now have a controversial radio to speak about.

The Sonoro Cubo has received no less than 3,900 precious stones on its luxurious case, thus making it even more exclusive. The choice was inevitable, Swarovski, a brand which has become insanely popular among all those fond of blinging out everything. Now, all these Crystallzed Series Swarovski diamonds have been mounted by expert craftsmen and give a pleasant aesthetic look to the Cubo.

All those Swarovski diamonds have been studded in the casing so their arrangement creates the shape of a flower - a pretty neat design which could have made it big in a common, lacquered version of the radio. Nevertheless, the new Cubo Elements Stardust looks fine, especially for those who are suckers for such displays of richness. The functions of the original Cubo radio haven't been affected in any way, so you'll get your traditional upside-firing high-class speaker, AM and FM tuner, MP3-player capabilities and the like.

Finally, bling comes for a price and, in this particular case, the price tag is not at all a thing to joke with: if you think $2,500 is a decent price for a piece of radio having “I'm rich” written all over it, then the Cubo Elements Stardust is the tool for you.
