A couple living in South Carolina recently received an unwelcome and unpleasant visitor: a 3.7-meter-long (12.13-feet) alligator which showed up on their porch, at a distance of just one meter from the couple's front door.

The alligator was first seen by Diana Andrews, who bumped into it when wishing to walk the dog.

“I was in bed and heard her open the door and then scream and then heard the door slam. The dog couldn't have been two feet from the gator's mouth when my wife grabbed him by his tail and pulled him back into the house, so she had to get that close too,” husband Arthur Andrews reportedly told members of the press.

Shortly after, wildlife experts arrived at the Andrews' house and took care of catching the animal.

Apparently, the alligator was first tied to a tree in order to make sure that it no longer posed any threats to anybody. Because of its impressive size, the alligator was euthanized.
