The casual users are the main targets for the adult content mobile service.

As if we never knew this, the Juniper Research Company has drawn the conclusion that sex sells and to prove this, they have engaged in a mobile market study that has finally ended with one big number: 3.3 billion. This is how much the mobile porn market will be worth in 2011 as their study says and guesses where the most developed part will be placed. In Europe, of course; but don't get any wrong ideas because the rest of the planet will suffer the same consequences only on a smaller scale and that will not be very far from what we will be experiencing here.

As the study says, between the year 2006 and 2011, the mobile content services will be the reason why individuals all over the world will spend a whopping 14.5 billion $, with shares of 39 % from Europe and 33 % from Asia Pacific.

Bruce Gibson, the research director of Juniper Research, has declared that "adult content business models have succeeded in other major delivery media: print, cinema, DVD, PPV TV etc. There is no reason why the mobile channel should not be equally profitable for adult content industry players. The mobile channel will provide a different way of presenting adult content to traditional delivery channels and will reach new audiences. Mobile is about fun and instant gratification. I think the biggest opportunity is at the casual and "softer" end of the adult market - lads in pubs sharing a video clip after a few pints and people looking for a bit of fun when they have spare time to kill etc - not the hard core stuff."

The "Mobile Adult Content: Text, Images & Video, 2006-2011 (third edition)" study also sustains that the future adult content mobile market will focus mainly on video content and high quality graphics, these being the ones responsible for 70% of the entire revenue drawn from the mobile porn industry.

The latest thing around in Europe is the pan-European mobile porn content delivering service. Take for example the Rhythm TV, a service provided by the British company Respond Mobile that offers access to TV stations as XXX TV and 100% Babes. This content delivery system has been scheduled to be launched in January 2007 and, until then, the casual users mentioned above will have to watch the XXX TV station on TV just like everybody else does. But that will take place sometime during January 2007...
