As the Christmas shopping period approaches (and after that, the countdown to CES 2011), we're seeing quite a few new and interesting tablets being rolled out onto the market, the latest to make an appearance being the 2goPad SL10 Pro from CTL, a 10.2-inch Tablet PC running the Windows 7 operating system. The 2goPad SL10 Pro is a successor to CTL's 2goPad SL10, but it adds a few interesting extras of its own. So, beside the multi-touch display, the 2goPad SL10 Pro offers an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor and 2GB of memory (similar to the SL10) but also includes a 64GB SSD Hard Drive, capable of delivering an experience up to 56% faster than standard hard drives, as well as increased reliability and faster boot up times. The device also comes with Microsoft Windows 7 Professional pre-installed, capacitive stylus pen, custom cleaning cloth and a small highly portable Bluetooth enabled wireless keyboard with a track pad, while the Pro model is also 3G ready. The 2goPad SL10 Pro also includes B/G/N wireless, 2 USB ports and SD Card Reader allowing the user to connect to all of their external devices. Erik Stromquist, executive vice president and COO of CTL, says, “We are excited to introduce the SL10 Pro model. Our vertical markets have been asking for this type of solution and we’ve responded. The SL10 Pro model is one of the most powerful, full featured and flexible tablets on the market.” Along with the capacitive stylus, cleaning cloth and wireless keyboard the SL10 Pro comes bundled with a VGA adapter for an external monitor and a case, all for an MSRP of $799. However, users who also want to add a 3G card to the Tablet PC from CTL will have to cough up an extra 90 US dollars.
