CTL, the company manufacturing the Classmate PC, the netbook targeting specifically the educational segment in developing countries, has decided that rolling out a ruggedized version of their Intel-based netbook might be a good idea (especially for certain areas around the world), and thus officially unveiled their CTL 2go 10.1" Classmate PC E11 model.

Naturally, the 2go 10.1" Classmate PC E11 features a more rugged design than some of the company's other products, featuring a rugged outer case and water resistant keyboard.

However, on the inside, the device from CTL retains the rather classic netbook configuration, built around an Intel Atom CPU, accompanied by up to 2GB of RAM memory and an 160GB HDD.

Speaking of storage, however, it's quite important to mention that CTL also offers users the option to extensively customize the available storage space, letting them choose a Kingston SSD that ranges from the Kingston V Series 30GB Solid State Drive (available for an extra $94.50) up to a Kingston V+ Series 512GB Solid State Drive (for which users will have to pay a whopping $1,532.00 extra).

Additionally, the CTL 2go Classmate PC now includes a keyboard that is 90% the size of a traditional keyboard, for more typing comfort, as well as a built-in wireless B/G/N module that allows for a faster, stronger wireless internet connection.

Plus, the netbook also comes with a 1.3 megapixel built-in camera and is powered by a 6-Cell Lithium Ion battery for up to 4.5+ hours usage per charge.

While the base price for the rugged CTL 2go 10.1" Classmate PC E11 is not exactly that high (we're only talking about 445 US dollars, after all), if you do decide to opt for one of the available extras, it's quite likely that you'll wind up paying a whole lot more for this ruggedized netbook.
