2K Games has confirmed that it's going to close down its 2K Czech studio in Prague in order to consolidate its team in Brno, and it's possible that the Mafia 3 project might be finished by the main 2K team in the U.S.

2K's Mafia series impressed quite a lot of gamers some time ago with its first two games made by Prague-based developer Illusion Softworks, which was later renamed to 2K Czech.

Now, 2K has confirmed to Eurogamer that it's closing down the 2K Czech studio while relocating some of its staff to Brno. The fate of the Mafia 3 project currently in development at the studio is unclear, although it might be taken over by a new team from the U.S.

"We have relocated and consolidated our 2K Czech team from our Prague facility to centralise resources in our location in Brno. Additionally, we are transferring some development resources from Prague and Brno to 2K headquarters in Novato, CA," 2K said.

As of yet, the publisher isn't talking about Mafia 3, which was previously rumored to launch for the PS4 and Xbox One.
