Cannibalization of traditional markets is in full swing

When we talking about $600 smartphones, we keep in mind that the bulk of the market can’t really afford such devices, while another significant portion can’t afford to buy both a smartphone and a notebook.

Despite that, the performance of mobile ARM Cortex A9 and Cortex A15 processors is high enough to satisfy any demand a casual computer user might have.

They’re best suited for internet browsing, e-mailing, music audition and video play, so most users that need a computer for such activities will likely be happy with their “latest and greatest” smartphone that will also allow them to brag with the high-performance gadget.

The survey was reportedly done in the UK, and it may not best describe the situation in emerging markets or other countries with a more modest GDP per capita, but it shows that customer reorientation is actually taking place.
