The women, dressed in provocative police costumes, served the inmates' guards whiskey laced with drugs

Last week, as many as 28 inmates disappeared from a jail in Brazil. What's interesting is that, rather than dig tunnels or wrestle their guards in a desperate attempt to run to freedom, these prisoners simply walked out their jail's front door.

The reason nobody asked them what they were doing was that the folks who were supposed to be watching over them were, well, unconscious, and only woke up from their slumber the day after the 28 prisoners had abandoned their cells.

No, the guards didn't just fall asleep on the job

The police officers now investigating this case say that, on the day that the inmates escaped, three women wearing provocative police-themed costumes showed up at the Nova Mutum public jail in Brazil and offered to entertain the guards working the night shift.

The women, whose identity remains a mystery, managed to trick the prison guards into drinking whiskey laced with drugs. Apparently, a few sips proved more than enough for the guards to land on the floor flat on their face and fall asleep.

When they woke up the following day, stripped of all their clothes and handcuffed, the mysterious ladies of the night were nowhere in sight. This might not have been such a problem if it were not for the fact that as many as 28 of the prisoners in their care were also missing.

“The plan was to seduce them. They served them cheap whiskey with some substance to knock them out, then unlocked the central gate which accesses the internal cells. Whoever wanted to escape left by the front door,” said police chief Angelina de Andrades Ferreira, as cited by RT.

To make matters even worse, it appears that, when they left their prison out the front door, the inmates, who left the facility accompanied by the three ladies wearing enticing police costumes, took several weapons and even ammunition with them.

The escaped prisoners are yet to be recaptured

As of Friday, just 8 of the prisoners who escaped the Nova Mutum public jail in central Brazil had been located and recaptured. Otherwise put, authorities in this corner of the world have plenty of work left to do if they are to even stand a chance of making amends for this incident.

More so if it's true what they say that this most daring escape was planned not by some experienced criminal but by an 18-year-old who had his girlfriend and a couple of her friends seduce his guards and help him break free.
