Micron won't like it, but it can't do anything about it, and neither can SK Hynix

One of the greatest technology company groups in the world, Samsung is quite heavily involved in memory production and sale. Its latest move in this field was increasing the focus on 25nm memory chip production.

Right now, most companies and consumers buy memory made on older processes, like 65 nm, even though it's many years old.

Still, there is always someone willing to pay for the efficiency and endurance of the newer chips. It helps that smaller nodes increase pre-wafer production and, thus, prices.

Anyway, Samsung wants to make the best of its 25nm node as quickly as possible, so it's increasing the production capacity now, when Micron and SK Hynix can't do the same for whatever reason.

Micron has only just upgraded its Hiroshima, Japan plant to 25nm, and SK Hynix won't transition on time because the fire back in September 2013 threw off its plans, so it's stuck at 29nm for now.
