25 To Life, the game Eidos planned to launch next month, will be postponed until 2006, according to Bill Gardner, CEO of the SCI American division.
Aside from the fact that following the acquisition of the company by SCI, the launching schedule has been modified, no other details were given.
25 To Life is a game similar to the GTA franchise where the player has to face the cops. Not even released, and the game has already been the subject of a scandal, Senator Charles E. Schumer criticizing in July 2005 the violent content and criminal behavior encouraged by the game. Schumer turned to Sony and Microsoft, (the game being scheduled to have both PS2 and Xbox versions) to prevent this title from being released.
The game was scheduled for release in this summer, but Eidos has decided to postpone it until October 2005.
Bill Gardner didn't say whether the same thing would happen to the other games, but it's a possibility worth taking into consideration. Eidos was acquired by SCI, after having financial problems with the last releases.
