In a report that said four million iPhone 4S units have been sold in the phone's first weekend, Apple also confirms to the world that tens of millions of customers have already upgraded to the two hottest software products to come out of Cupertino this year - iOS 5 and iCloud.

Apple this week confirmed that its new iPhone 4S had toppled previous sales records held by older models. Over four million units have been sold so far (including pre-orders and in-store pickups), and it’s been out only a few days now.

However, Apple has other mighty figures to dish out as well.

In yesterday’s announcement, Apple also confirmed that “more than 25 million customers are already using iOS 5, the world’s most advanced mobile operating system, in the first five days of its release, and more than 20 million customers have signed up for iCloud, a breakthrough set of free cloud services that automatically and wirelessly store your content in iCloud and push it to all your devices.”

iOS 5 should easily account for the most IPSW downloads for any major iOS release to date.

The mobile OS builds on top of its predecessor and adds over 200 new features, including Siri, the amazing personal assistant application based on a project that Apple spent $200 million to acquire. And it seems it’s paying off.

iCloud, for its part, does just what a cloud service should - store everything in the cloud for you so you can access your entire digital life, without restrictions, anywhere you are, on your Mac, iPhone, iPad, even Windows PC.

And, today, Apple will be disclosing even more impressive figures. This time, the topic will be hard cash.

As reported earlier today, Apple is set to announce its quarterly earnings for fiscal Q4 2011 which analysts expect to be record-setting.
