Even though most systems don't need more than 4GB to 8GB of memory to run most games and applications, there are always some gaming or multitasking enthusiasts who want their systems to pack as much RAM as they can shove into them. For those end-users with very highly capable motherboards and CPUs, Corsair has unleashed yet another bleeding-edge random access memory product, the 24GB Dominator DDR3 memory kit.

The kit is made up of six DIMM modules of 4GB DDR3 memory each. Every individual module runs on 1.65V VDIMM and is capable of reaching clock speeds of 1333MHz. As such, the six modules combined are able to handle mostly any heavy workload, regardless of the nature of the processes.

“Corsair’s 24GB Dominator memory kit is perfect for high-performance computing applications, including computational research, HD digital content creation, working with multiple virtual machines, and other data-intensive applications,” John Beekley, VP of technical marketing at Corsair, said. “The latest multi-core Intel and AMD™ CPUs, combined with sophisticated graphics processors from Nvidia® and AMD, are capable of performing incredible workloads. Corsair’s 24GB Dominator memory kit enables the large number of concurrent threads and substantial datasets required by these applications.”

The high-end configurations used in the testing of the Dominator DDR3 24GB memory kit were made up of the Intel X58 motherboard chipset and Intel Core i7 “Bloomfield” processors. When used on such platforms, the modules boasted latency times of 9-9-9-27 and were capable of staying at manageable temperatures thanks to their integration of the Corsair-patented DHX+ heatsink technology.

The memory kit can already be found at Corsair's online store and has a suitably enormous price of $1,349.99. The Dominator DDR3 modules also come as part of Intel Core i5 and i7 platforms (in 8GB and 12GB kits) and are equipped with American Racing Blue heatsink fins.
