There are many gaming monitors out there, and then there are professional gaming monitors that go even further in terms of specifications and extra features than them. BenQ has just released one such monitor.

The new display is called RL2460HT (so it's part of the RL series) and could be qualified as peculiar from a certain point of view.

After all, the brightness is pretty low, at 250 cd/m2, and the viewing angles of 170°/160° aren't exactly spectacular.

Then again, this is not an IPS-based panel, so we suppose that the mere fact that it even provides those angles is impressive.

After all, there isn't too big a difference between 170 and 178, and the vertical angle (160 degrees) doesn't matter too much for a gaming display, since you aren't likely to sit too far from it anyway.

And people who play games from a couch probably use a console and a TV, or a PC or a larger TV of 30-40 or more inches.

Anyway, BenQ used TN technology instead of IPS because it allows for a better response time, specifically 1 ms here. It will give you that extra edge in shooters.

That said, the 24-inch LCD display boasts Flicker-free Technology, which reduces eye strain, and Low Blue Light Technology, which does the same by cutting down the intensity of the blue light in all screen pixels.

There is a Fighting Mode that the BenQ RL2460HT can be switched to, with color calibration settings (can highlight characters in combat). The Display Pilot function lets you access the Game Mode Loader, which downloads and installs the preset display settings of certain games. The on-screen display control panel comes in 17 languages.

Then, there's the HDMI output. That's right, an HDMI output. There's an input too, but the output will eliminate input lag.

Speaking of which, in addition to two HDMI ports, you'll find dual-link DVI, D-Sub and a headphone jack.

Furthermore, the company implemented the Precision Scale System, which allows the stand to adjust height-wise (110 mm) by means of a single finger. You can even set the screen flat on the table, or turn it vertically, in portrait mode if you want.

If you want to mount it on a wall, that's fine too. A VESA mount is included in the package, among various other things.

Finally, the BenQ RL2460HT professional gaming monitor should be up for sale this month, April 2104. Unfortunately, the price is unknown.
