In the first days of November, hackers of the Pakistani Haxors Crew hacked and defaced the official website of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the ruling political party in Tamil Nadu, India. Authorities say they’ve detained a suspect.

According to The Hindu, on Saturday, police arrested a 23-year-old computer science graduate. The suspect, P. Eswaran, is said to be working for a top Bangalore-based IT firm.

Authorities have seized the alleged hacker’s laptop and found numerous hacking tools on it. They’ve also uncovered evidence that shows Eswaran had illegally logged in as an administrator to AIADMK’s website. However, it’s uncertain if he’s the one who defaced the site on behalf of Pakistani hacktivists.

The police have requested the aid of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). The organization provided the information that led to the identification of Eswaran. The investigation continues.

Currently, the impacted website, aiadmkallindia.org, is offline.
