Something tells me Eric Cloutier from California will be doing a lot of housework in the coming months. Long story short, the man accidentally sold his wife's diamond wedding ring in a garage sale.

The wedding ring was placed inside a watch box that looked nothing out of the ordinary, and Eric had no idea that it was there.

Hence the fact that he sold the box and the $23,000 (€17,278) ring in it for $10 (€7.5).

At the time when this happened, his wife, Racquel, was in the hospital. She was giving birth to her fifth child.

When she returned home, she was shocked to find that the box inside which she knew her wedding ring was hidden was missing.

“I go into my husband’s closet, can’t find the box, and then he tells me he sold it. I said, 'You sold it? What do you mean you sold it?' I immediately started crying,” Racquel said, as cited by Gawker.

Racquel and Eric hope that whoever bought the box will be kind enough to give the ring back.
