It will be launched during the Computex 2012 show, next month

We thought the Toshiba Excite 13 was an oversized tablet, but we might have to reassess that conclusion now that we know what ViewSonic has in store for the world.

ViewSonic will attend the Computex 2012 trade show, which will take place in Taipei, Taiwan, between June 5 and June 6.

As such, it will have quite a few products on show, albeit mostly displays and slates.

If we were to guess, we would say that the tablet lineup will draw most attention, and we base this assumption on something that Engadget revealed yesterday (May 25).

ViewSonic has created a tablet loaded with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and equipped with a 22-inch screen.

That's right, this slate is bigger than many monitors and pretty much every laptop out there to boot.

It is no surprise that the item is nicknamed “smart business tablet monitor,” although we have to wonder how Android 4.0 will fit the “business” profile.

Unfortunately, the report did not impart any hardware information, which means that we'll have to wait until next month for the list of specs.

We suppose NVIDIA's Tegra 3 chip is a likely candidate, and there should be 1 or 2 GB of memory backing it up.

On that note, storage space could range between 16 GB and 64 GB, maybe even 128 GB. It depends on how affordable ViewSonic expects this thing to be.

There is also little chance of not finding HDMI, USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a webcam or two.

As for the screen, we really hope ViewSonic won't cop out like Toshiba did when it made the Regza AT830. A 22-inch panel shouldn't settle for anything below Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels), not in a market with 10-inch tablets that do have such image quality.
