Beside doing just about everything in its power to establish itself as a serious player on the SSD and Flash memory markets, Active Media Products (or AMP, for short) has also released over time quite a few USB flash drives featuring some pretty unusual shapes, and that's exactly the case with the particular storage solution we'll talk about as follows, namely their 22-caliber silver bullet shaped USB 2.0 flash drive. Beside having quite an unusual shape, the flash drive also comes encased in air tight aluminum enclosure that protects all data from harsh environments such as water, snow, sand and dust.

Moreover, the bullet-shaped drive is accompanied by a strong steel keychain and clip for attaching the drive to a backpack or keyring.

Unfortunately, AMP has not made the jump to USB 3.0 interfaces as far as the bullet-shaped flash drive is concerned, as the device sports a USB 2.0 connector (USB 1.1 also supported), while running equally well on both Mac and PC systems (Windows 7 / Vista / XP / 98 OS' are all supported).

Additionally, the drive, available in 4GB and 8GB versions, will take a very small amount of space wherever it might be placed at any given moment, since it only measures 2.6 x 0.6 inches (65 x 16 mm).

"The Bullet-2 drive is the ultimate USB drive because it is rugged, reliable, waterproof, dustproof, small enough to comfortably fit on your keychain, and is a classical icon of form," stated Active Media Products VP of Sales, Jerry Thomson.

Given the fact that the amount of storage the bullet-shaped flash drives from AMP provide is not exactly fantastic, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that their price points are actually quite small, the 4GB model selling for $13.95 while the 8GB version is only slightly more expensive, at around $20.95.
