Is it coming to an end?

We wrote yesterday about the law that prohibits the sales of certain games to minors and its long awaited approval by California's Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Now it appears that a similar law has already been passed in the state of Michigan by Governor Jennifer M. Granholm, which prohibits the sales and rental of mature games to minors (under 21). And this drastic measure comes from an otherwise liberal Governor who supports, for example, gay rights and gay marriage.

This practically means that if I would want to buy, for example, Max Payne 3 and I don't have the "legal" right to do that, it would constitute a crime for the salesman. Therefore such purchase or rental would be impossible.

This trend continues to grow throughout the world and it's picking up speed. Very soon, the sales will begin to drop, as most games are played (even if not intended) by "minors"; there won't be enough money to continue building quality games (not Mario and stuff) and some day we might wake up in an Amish gaming community.
