A pair of twin sisters from Akron City, Ohio got into a violent argument on Christmas day over some apple fritter so tasty that it led to one of them stabbing the other. The twin 21-year-olds were cooking in the kitchen when what started as a joke ended up with a stab wound to the chest.

Contisha Hayes stabbed her sister, Tamara Delaney, in the chest with a kitchen knife and ended up spending the holidays in jail charged with felonious assault. What started as a joke, or a “play fight,” quickly escalated to hair pulling and knife wielding, finally leading to a serious angry retaliation.

Delaney allegedly pulled her sister's hair, provoking Hayes to grab a kitchen knife and stab her sister in the chest in retaliation, Daily Mail notes. At the sight of the horrible incident, someone else from the sisters' house called 911 and asked for a unit on Springdale Street, Akron City.

When officers arrived, they found the victim with stab wounds to the chest and immediately rushed her to the hospital to receive medical treatment. Luckily, the woman's injuries weren't life-threatening and she is recovering in Akron City Hospital.

Her sister was charged with felonious assault and is currently held in the Summit County Jail, Daily Mail adds. The twins' other sister posted on Facebook after the incident, “Please pray for Tamara Delaney is currently in the hospital in the ICU,” and "Please pray for Tisha Hayes," after posting earlier a photo of the argument-causing apple fritter.

The two sisters will now spend the holidays separately, one in jail and the other one in the hospital, after the apple dessert got the worst of them. It is a fact that holidays can be a hard time for families, ending up in vivid arguments and violent fights, and the twins may have been overwhelmed by all the holiday spirit, making them turn a bit too violent.
