14 DAY TRIAL // The upcoming cop / buddy comedy “21 Jump Street” is being sold as a remake of the Johnny Depp-starring '80s TV series of the same name, but it hardly has anything to do with it. A new trailer and poster for it are now out.
“21 Jump Street” sees Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, two apparently lame and rather dumb cops, on an assignment that could potentially launch their careers on the force.
They have to infiltrate high school to track down a violent drug ring. Of course, being growups posing as teens will offer plenty of occasions for crude or physical humor, and not few witty one-liners.
The poster (click the image above to see it in full) shows the two cops as the cutest promo couple ever. “The only thing getting blown tonight is their cover,” the tagline reads.
The new trailer, embedded below, is slightly different from the one we were telling you about in early November. It also shows exactly just how unprofessional (and totally adorable) the two are.
They also have great chemistry.
“21 Jump Street” is out in theaters on March 12, 2012.
