There's a new monitor in town, one that may or may not impress you with its price of €299 / $299, given the rather odd specifications.

Called Acer UT220HQL, the 21.5-inch display is conflicting, or so I feel, because while the 10-pint multitouch and Vertical Alignment panel are strong points (178/178 degree viewing angles), the 8 ms response time isn't.

Then again, the product does possess USB, HDMI and D-Sub, as well as MHL capabilities (mobile high-definition link for phone/tablet/etc. wireless streaming). So I suppose the good does outweigh the bad.

On that note, the newcomer has a 100,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (still 1,000:1 static though, from what I can see).

All in all, it won't be good for games, exactly, but should satisfy media lovers and office workers. Especially the latter since it can lay flat on its back.
