Sony's console will win over the Xbox One due to the sheer number of quality exclusive video game it has lined up

Well-known industry analyst Michael Pacther claims that 2015 will still be dominated by the PlayStation 4, and that Xbox One will continue to struggle, due to the overwhelming number of games that will be available for Sony's platform.

The information comes from an interview with GameTrailers, during which Pacther talks about the coming year and states his view on the competition between Microsoft and Sony.

Michael Pachter is a research analyst at Wedbush Securities, well known in the gaming world for making wild predictions that don't always turn out to reflect reality, but his opinion is still highly regarded by many.

He thinks that both companies have a solid lineup for 2015, but that Sony has simply planned better and moved in earlier, securing another peak year in 2015. This will be mostly on account of the sheer amount of quality games that will be available on the PlayStation 4, blowing all competition out of the water.

Sony moved in early and strong

Pachter praised Sony's execs for doing a phenomenal job in preparing for the coming year, stating that the abundance of titles, both AAA and indie, would be very advantageous for the company.

He pointed out that normally gamers would expect one big hit in spring, and one or two in fall, but Sony planned at least double that number in appealing exclusives for 2015.

He said that Microsoft might have something similar planned, but it was by no means enough to keep up with the onslaught of PS4 exclusives, and that Nintendo was in a similar situation, suffering due to the lack of quality exclusives to drive console sales.

2015 will be another great year for PlayStation

He expressed his belief that 2015 would be another peak year for Sony and the PlayStation 4, in its ongoing battle against Microsoft's Xbox One computer entertainment system.

However, while Pachter is right as far as known information is concerned, Microsoft has already proven that, with a concerted effort, it is able to come on top. Due to an aggressive push during November, the Xbox One sold better than the PS4, due to great deals, massive exclusives, and attractive bundles.

Microsoft still has enough time to prepare a surprise for E3 2015 and Gamescom 2015, to show what it has in store for Xbox One owners and to sway the undecided its way.

So far, the PS4's hottest 2015 titles are The Order 1886, Bloodborne, No Man's Sky, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, and the Xbox One's most wanted are Halo 5: Guardians, Ori and the Blind Forest, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Fable Legends.
