14 DAY TRIAL // Next year Apple will most likely switch to an all-new design for the iPhone 6. Federico Ciccarese believes it could be called “iPhone Air,” and his latest concept shows what it may look like.
If Apple wants to make a thinner iPhone this year, it will probably end up with a design like Federico’s. The tapered back shell is a must for next year’s iPhone, as the current edgy design is getting kind of old.
If the screen size increases to 5 inches, as it’s being rumored, Apple could still keep the device thin by spreading the battery across the increased real estate.
Federico says Apple is always pushing for uniform design, and this mockup accurately translates that ideology into a physical object.
You’ll also notice that the diamond-brushed edge on the front of the phone is bigger on Federico’s mockup iPhone Air. This is clearly a flagship design element that Apple needs to emphasize.
