Last week, Bill Veghte, senior vice president for the Windows Business, announced that he was quitting the company, and this week, another 20-year Microsoft veteran got promoted at the top of Worldwide Industry Sectors and Global Accounts for the Redmond giant. Susan Hauser will take on the role of vice president of Worldwide Industry and Global Accounts replacing Brian Scott, who left the position open having transitioned to the Microsoft Health & Life Sciences Industry as general manager. A successor for Hauser has yet to be announced, with Microsoft informing that she would continue to helm the Worldwide Financial Services Group until a replacement is identified.

“I’m excited by the challenge of leading a very strong Worldwide Industry and Global Accounts team in helping our enterprise customers and partners respond to the ‘new normal,’” revealed Susan Hauser, vice president of Worldwide Industry and Global Accounts. “Our No. 1 priority continues to be to ensure that our customers and partners realize the most business value from their relationships with Microsoft. I look to meeting this challenge by leveraging the combined strength of our Worldwide Industry and Global Accounts organizations to ensure that our industry solutions are tightly aligned to the needs of our top accounts and other enterprise customers.”

Hauser, who was in the past responsible for putting together Microsoft’s first Financial Services organization, will now lead the company’s Worldwide Commercial Industry Sectors. And at the helm of Worldwide Commercial Industry Sectors, she will be responsible for Worldwide Financial Services, Worldwide Distribution and Services, Worldwide Manufacturing and Resources, and the Global Accounts Organization.

“I’m pleased to announce Susan’s promotion to her new leadership position,” added Simon Witts, corporate vice president, Enterprise & Partner Group, Microsoft. “Throughout her career, Susan has demonstrated strong relationship management skills, sales and marketing leadership, and a strong commitment to people development. With her more than 20 years at Microsoft, and strong passion for customers and partners, I am confident Susan will be a great leader for this team and drive further results and growth.”
