The refresh will be preceded by Z97- and H97-based motherboards

The Haswell line of central processing units from Intel is poised to get some new members in a few months.

According to a new report, the Santa Clara, California-based company will launch 20 new CPUs in May.

There will be Core i7 units (most notably Core i7-4790 and low-power Core i7-4790S), Core i5 chips (Core i5-4690, Core i5-4590, Core i5-4590S), Core i3 (Core i3-4360, Core i3-4150T), Pentium (G3450), and even Celeron (G1840).

After that will come the Intel Haswell Refresh K series, the Haswell-E high-end / extreme-performance processors.

All things considered, it kind of clashes with the rumor that Broadwell would be out as early as Q3.

Anyway, motherboards based on Z97 and H97 chipsets should start showing up as early as April. The new CPUs will need platforms to spread themselves over after all.
