14 DAY TRIAL // It was just a week ago that HighPoint released the 40-Port SATA 6 Gb/s host adapter, and now the same company is introducing a second controller, called RocketRAID 644LS.
The new product is a single-port 6GB/s SATA RAID HBA (host bus adapter) capable of connecting 20 storage drives and allow a system to treat them like a single whole.
Equipped with a SATA 6.0 Gbps controller, it uses HighPoint's 6Gb/s SATA Port Multiplier Architecture, and a PCIe 2.0 host interface.
Thus, RocketRAID 644LS can run up to 80 TB of storage from a single port, at high speeds depending on the chosen RAID mode (RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and JBOD).
There are various productivity-enhancing technologies and assets that improve ease of use too.
Sales of the RocketRAID 644LS will start, for $99 / 75-99 Euro in April 2013.
