Greentomato improvements have nothing in common with a healthy diet but have everything to do with an eco-friendlier way of traveling. The London-based taxicab firm greentomatocars plans to add 20 vehicles running on biofuel to its current fleet.

So far, the company has been offering 200 Prius cars to those of their clients who decided that their trip to London shouldn't decrease the air quality in the region.

As the demand for greener vehicles grew, the officials decided to invest in 14 Citroen Combi Dispatch MPVs and six Citroen C6. Both cars are powered by a special fuel, which contains up to 30% biodiesel manufactured out of traditional fuel and vegetable oil.

A quite special mixture, taking into consideration that it has the potential to clear from the atmosphere up to 20% of the CO2 emissions emitted in the past.

Reusing waste vegetable oil appears to be an eco-friendly strategy that will decrease the level of air pollution in London, a crowded city where its inhabitants already have difficulties breathing.

The UK is no stranger to pollution, and greentomatocars wants to make sure that its activity won't make things even worse.

By adding new green cars, the company will allow its customers to make consciously green decisions.

Representatives from the enterprise have scaled up their efforts to make sure that clients get what they are willing to pay for, partially due to their eco-conscious attitude but mostly because they're struggling to remain in the game.

Their most powerful competitor, Climatecars is already boasting an impressive fleet consisting of hybrid vehicles only. It has also announced it will offer 10 other electric cars to their clients at the beginning of 2012.

"Recent feedback from customers has shown they needed other options but still wanted to make a consciously green decision when choosing their private hire provider," stated Hamish Philips, head of innovation at greentomatocars, hoping that eco-conscious cars will make a difference where their profit margin and the environment are concerned.
