Workers at a Paterson daycare center found something unusual on a 2-year-old boy on Tuesday. They discovered that the child was carrying 48 glassine envelopes of heroin in his jacket.

The boy's father Phillip Young was taken into custody after the employees of the daycare center on Oliver Street called the police. Officers say that the boy knew nothing about the drugs.

Investigators have determined that the toddler's father was responsible for the drug stash hidden in the boy's jacket. They also say that Young had accompanied his son to the daycare center, called Michael's Energy Factory, that morning.

The 27-year-old man has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and authorities set his bail at $85,000 (€61,360).

No other children at the center were exposed to the heroin, city police mentioned, according to North Jersey. But the parents were very mad when they found out about the incident, saying that it was a very dangerous situation and they should have been notified.

This sounds like a really sad story about irresponsible parents who don't think twice before exposing their children like this. I wonder what would have happened if the kid had put that thing in his mouth. The story would have probably been an even sadder one.
