A 23-year-old man whose identity has not yet been released to the press went on a killing spree in Texas, shooting 2 and injuring another 5 before he was taken out by police in a shootout, Reuters reports.The man’s motives have not yet been established but, according to reports, he drove between Eden and Brady, randomly opening fire on people.
He was shot in Eden, “in a shootout with a Highway Patrol trooper and game warden who arrived to assist the sheriff,” the aforementioned media outlet reports.
“Authorities recovered an assault rifle, a handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition from the suspect,” adds Reuters.
An investigation is now underway to determine what might have prompted such a violent course of action on behalf of the man. His identity will be made public only after his next of kin are notified.
