2 Days 2 Vegas – a Real GTA IV Competitor?

- A trip to Sin City could be the best gift for the next Christmas

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

First, let us say that this game looks really promising. Second, 2 Days 2 Vegas wants to provide a more emotional and story driven experience than Grand Theft Auto and all the choices you make will affect the outcome of the story. Not to mention some great graphics for the trip to a city that never sleeps – Las Vegas,
baby!

The game's storyline will follow Vinny, a recently released prisoner, who finds out that his little brother has some problems in Las Vegas, so you have to go and solve all of them. You will have 48 hours and no minute more and you will visit more cities on the way, the only two confirmed being New York and Las Vegas.

Now, regarding some nice features, we should mention the life-like visuals, an in-game "garbage generator" to simulate the clutter on the city streets (that's a good one!) and non stop action, including car chases, game shootouts and permanent story twists, influenced by the decision Vinny makes.

Psu.com have contacted the developers, Steel Monkey, and they have a bunch of new and interesting information regarding 2 Days 2 Vegas. First of all, the game will be released this Christmas for the PC systems and Xbox 360 consoles, a PlayStation 3 version being planned for an early 2009 release. Also, it seems that the game producer can hardly wait to actually use the extra storage offered by Blu-ray discs and include even more content in the game.

So 2 Days 2 Vegas is, as you can see, a real competitor for GTA IV which even dares to promise a few extra things. And even though the few released screenshots look incredibly well, you should note that they represent only about 50% of what the game wants to bring to the public, since they are from a very early build of the game (no ambient filters, anti-aliasing or any stuff like that was added). Well, I can hardly wait to see how cool this game will look like after these will be implemented.
