14 DAY TRIAL // Rapper 2 Chainz had one heck of a Valentine’s Day, getting arrested on drug charges. As if that wasn’t bad enough, when he was released, police also asked him for photos, which he found a bit annoying, to say the least.
TMZ reports that the rapper was busted with marijuana in his van.
The officers smelled marijuana and found a grinder in the car, which was enough for an arrest. As he was being released, the same officers who arrested him asked for his picture.
2 Chainz has posted it to his Instagram page, with the caption, “Locked me up and then Wanted pictures smh.”
He’s clearly not happy with it and he’s making a point of speaking his mind on his Twitter.
“We to jail for a grinder??? REALLY??? I work hard and pray even harder , we gone always b good yall....” he wrote.
Later on, he denied that the drugs were his.
“Not to mention my security said it was his and they said , he don't smoke ,, how ... u know? Haha wut a valentines day!!!” the rapper explained.
2 Chainz is making a point – or trying to – that police were only messing with him because he was the only one of the 6 passengers in the van arrested.
He also says that he didn’t have a bag of marijuana on his person, or even less than that. All that the cops found was the grinder, not the drugs.
Several media outlets have also reached out to the Maryland police to see whether it was against the rule to have cops take pictures with the people they arrest.
A spokesperson said that “there is no specific policy, per se” forbidding that, but the case has come to the attention of the brass, who are looking into it administratively.
