Crowdfunding is helping the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, with $2million (€1.53 million) gathered so far.

According to NBC News, many have started accounts to help out the survivors and the families of those that lost their lives.

Good Samaritans are giving back on sites such as GiveForward and GoFundMe.

As I told you, two explosives were placed near the finish line of the Marathon on April 15, killing three people and injuring 170 others, some of whom lost limbs in the blast.

Leslie Kelly of Pebble Beach, California initiated a charitable pool on GoFundMe, and she is not the only one.

“Crowdfunding is actually very empowering to the donors and supporters,” GoFundMe exec Brad Damphousse explains.

GiveForward President Ethan Austin warns about online charity scams, but clarifies that they suspend any account once receiving a complaint, and investigate the recipient of the donations.
