Remember the news about Brit Brit's meeting with ex-hubby K-Fed last week? I'm talking about the one for which Britney actually wore a longs dress, didn't flash her vagina and was not drunk. The meeting was, as we've already told you, Britney's idea and took place in the Los Angeles offices of her lawyer Laura Wasser.
Despite trying to keep everything under wraps, rumors began swirling minutes after news of the meeting came out, and from what we've learned so far, it sounds like Britney is trying hard to put a stop to the media circus surrounding the bitter custody battle between herself and her former husband.
Even more, Britney may have decided to pay for her peace of mind - and seeing that she makes about $800.000 a month, I'm not worried about her ruining herself paying off Fed-Ex. Initially, it was said that she offered to go on paying Federline $20.000 a month (he was entitled to it through their pre-nuptial agreement, but the payments were due to stop in November this year). After this rumor turned out to be false - K-Fed, of course, claiming he is not doing this for the money, but for the sake of the couple's two boys - a new possibility emerges: Britney may have offered Federline a much more consistent sum of money, somewhere along the lines of $2 million.
The couple now shares custody, but Federline is seeking to make it 70/30 in his favor. "If he got custody it would mean massive sums in child maintenance and that is what Britney thinks he is after. She thinks if she gives him a wad of dollars he can go take it and knock himself out!" says a source.
But the thing is, we must never underestimate would-be failed rappers. K-Fed (or whoever does the thinking for him) is thinking big and putting things in perspective. I mean, given Brit Brit's fortune at present and the fact that, trainwreck or not, she still manages to keep the headlines going, it's highly unlikely K-Fed will give up the gold mine in favor of a quick pay-off.
Actually, I bet he thinks Britney is quite cheap - after all, $ 2 million is what she makes in less than 3 months. And while K-Fed would need a lifetime to make that kind of money himself, being married to a former pop star does seem to have its advantages - although I'm sure Britney would disagree to that. After all, what has being married to K-Fed done for her?
