The new OneTouch III Turbo Edition offers 1TB of storage space. It's as simple as that. If you need additional space in order to keep all your favorite movies on your hard drive, this external enclosure is the one for you. $899.95 may seem a lot for this kind of device but it's pretty clear that it's a winner in its area.

Note that the 2 drives can be connected as Raid 0 or Raid 1 array since the OneTouch is essentially a Raid device. Stripping the data will give you full access to almost 1TB of storage but it will mean a supplementary risk of losing the data since the hard drives are not mirrored.

"As a leader in consumer storage and backup solutions, our job is to help protect our customers' digital lives. We're thinking about the difficult things so our consumers don't have to. We want data backup and protection to be virtually effortless," said Stacey Lund, vice president of marketing, of Maxtor's Branded Products Group

The OneTouch is specifically designed for Mac since it comes preformatted with Mac file system but the software also supports Windows Xp. The casing comes with both USB 2.0 and Firewire 400/800 connectivity.

1TB of storage space is a lot. Moreover it comes in an external form and can connect to your PC through various interfaces. Keeping that in mind, the performance is not staggering but the product does its job well. And until 2x750 GBs hard disks enclosures hit the market, this still remains an unbeatable performer.
