Agile Web Solutions, the maker of 1Password, has updated its flagship product to version 3.1.2. The popular password manager and form filler for Mac users adds both new features, and a number of enhancements to the existing ones, as well as fixes for recently discovered bugs.

According to 1Password’s authors, the new release improves authentication popups shown in the browser, while Go&Fill can now be used for logins that show authentication popups, to name a few noteworthy changes. “We have also fixed an annoying problem where Wi-Fi Sync with iPhone and iPad would not work until 1Password is restarted and made other improvements in Wi-Fi Sync,” the developers say. A full changelog is provided, as usual, with Agile listing the new features, changes and bug fixes in tight order.

As far as new additions are concerned, Agile also reveals that most of 1Password’s application settings can now be synced between Macs when MobileMe Preference Syncing is enabled. This is done by accessing System Preferences > MobileMe > Sync > Preferences, Agile instructs users. An added option to not show Wi-Fi Sync Authentication prompt automatically every time a new iPhone appears on the network is also mentioned in the release notes. Key changes are listed as follows:

- Improved localization support. - Minor user interface improvements. - Now will always check for new beta versions when running a beta build. - Added logging to help troubleshooting the Wi-Fi sync issues. - Updated Russian localization.

Bugs addressed include: a problem where iPhone or iPad couldn't be found by Wi-Fi sync until the 1Password is restarted; a workaround to allow unlocking WebKit.app extension together with other web browsers; a problem where newly synced or pasted from clipboard item appears blank during editing, and others.
