The folks at Agile Web Solutions have rolled out
the final version of 1Password 2.9.4. Having gone through three betas since the initial 2.9.4 release earlier this month, the makers of this popular password manager have cemented changes like improved Fill Login menu in all browsers except
Firefox, and improved automatic license registration. Fixes for over half a dozen bugs have also proved successful.
1Password can remember all the online passwords that you insert on any web page or form, anytime, by using one single (master) password. It integrates directly into most browsers, and sports built-in anti-phishing and keylogger protection. Using 1Password, Mac owners can easily manage hundreds of passwords with one key. It supports Firefox, Camino, OmniWeb, DEVONagent, NetNewsWire, and of course, Apple's own Safari. Opera, unfortunately, isn't supported. An iPhone version of the app is also available for download via the
iTunes App Store.
The first beta of 1Password 2.9.4 prevented the application's Preferences from syncing via MobileMe, the changelog says. Agile Web Solutions had also updated 1Password's toolbar images for OmniWeb 5.8. Fixes included in the early build of 1Password 2.9.4 hid items from the Bookmarks menu, if they were set to be hidden in the browser. A problem with keyboard shortcuts in Firefox had been addressed as well.
The new 1Password 2.9.4, fresh out of beta, adds all this and more. New changes include improved automatic license registration. As many as seven code corrections have been made in the new release. Agile Web solution notes that it was able to fix a problem when renaming the folder did not take immediate effect, as well as an issue with launching 1Password Agent on Tiger. The new version shouldn't crash on startup anymore, if the Agile Keychain is not valid. Lastly, a problem with missing 1Password help was successfully addressed.
1Password starts at $39.95 - Single User license. A Family license costs $59.95. 1Password is licensed on a per-person basis (a single license can be used by one person on as many Macs as they can afford) in order to reduce 1Password's total cost of ownership. Using the link below, you can update to the current version, try out 1Password for free in demo mode, or buy a copy of the software. Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) is required. Both PPC and Intel processors are a go.
