Agile Web Solutions, the makers of 1Password, have again updated their powerful password manager for Mac OS X. Version 2.8.1 improves syncing with native iPhone apps, and adds improved credit car fill on rogers.com. 2.8.2 Beta-1 fixes a crash during sync to iPhone on PowerPCs. More details are available below.

1Password remembers all your online passwords that you can insert on any web page or form, anytime, by using one (master) password. The software integrates directly into most browsers, and sports built-in anti-phishing and keylogger protection, while users can easily manage hundreds of passwords with one master key. The developers have successfully introduced the useful service to the iPhone as well. The application is currently available for free download via the App Store, for iPhone / iPod touch users running OS 2.0.

Changes for version 2.8.1 (build #7190), published on July 29, 2008 include improvements to syncing with iPhone applications. The changes listed on Agile Web Solutions' support page reveal:

1. Improved syncing with native iPhone applications. 2. Improved credit card fill on rogers.com. 3. Removed Sync to iPhone Bookmarklet. 4. Stopped adding warning message to the system log file.

Changes for version 2.8.2.BETA-1 (build #7191), published on the same day as version 2.8.1, include fixes to a crash during iPhone sync on PowerPC Macs. Both currently available versions of 1Password (version 2.8.1 - stable and 2.8.2 Beta-1) are available for download right here on our website. If you are using an iPhone / iPod touch as well, keep in mind that Agile Web Solutions is offering the portable version of its password manager for free only for a limited period of time. You can download the iPhone version through the App Store, here.

As always, note that your master password will be used to protect your keychain data with military strength encryption, hence the importance of picking a strong master password to use with the program.
