An extremely rare Ferrari Spider manufactured in 1967 has been sold at an auction in California for $27.5 million (€20.6 million).

LA Times conveyed details about the sale of the Ferrari 275 GTB/4*S N.A.R.T Spider. It appears that the sale has set a new world record for most expensive street car sold in history.

According to autoevolution, it made another record for most expensive vehicle ever sold in the United States.

Only 10 cars were ever made by the North American Racing Team, and this vehicle has only ever belonged to one owner.

The car was auctioned off by the owner's son, Eddie Smith Jr. It was originally purchased in North Carolina in 1968. He is donating the proceeds to charity.

"Drive it, love it, enjoy it, and more importantly share it with others so they can see it," he tells the buyers.
