Daedalic Entertainment and Irresponsible Games have announced that their upcoming adventure game 1954: Alcatraz will be released on March 11 for PC and Mac.

The game is set in 1950s San Francisco, with Joe serving a 40-year stint in Alcatraz for armed assault, while his wife Christine is left alone on the outside, to deal with gangsters who still want their cut of the loot that Joe stashed.

Choices that players make in-game will influence the course of the story, resulting in different and surprising twists and endings, as they try to help Joe make his escape from the island fortress while avoiding Joe's partner-in-crime Mickey, who constantly threatens to kill Christine unless she hands over the dough.

Escape from prison, however, will not solve the couple's problems, as they will still have to deal with the low-down and corrupted gangsters of the Bay Area.

1954: Alcatraz will become available on both Steam and GOG, going for $20 / €15, with German and English localizations and French and Russian subtitles.
