No matter what reason one may have to take a bat to the iPad’s screen, as long as it’s not going to save someone’s life, it’s downright wrong. According to various reports, a 19-year-old high-school student and his friends bought an iPad only to destroy it moments after leaving the retail store. We can’t just sit and watch as they get attention for his actions. Not without setting the record straight, anyway.

Justin Kockott, the guy whose initiative was to reshape an iPad with a baseball bat, reportedly said, "I wanted to be the first one to do it before other people did it," adding that, "It was just something to do."

To be frank, the video (available below) isn’t all that spectacular to begin with. The people contributing to the destructive event seem to be running very low on imagination. Kockott revealed to the Los Angeles Times that he was surprised at how many people responded negatively to his footage.

"I knew some people would hate it, but I didn't think that many people would hate it," he said. "A lot of people are leaving really bad comments," he added, referring to the YouTube video they made.

Needless to point out, the person in question doesn't seem to differentiate Apple fanboys from folks who simply know right from wrong. Kockott reportedly told the Times he didn't hold a grudge against Apple, and that he had actually bought two other iPads. "I do not at all hate Apple. I love Apple, actually," he said.

After watching the upsetting video, Softpedia felt compelled to get a few words out.

Softpedia note

A renowned theoretical physicist once said, "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Kockott gives more sense to this famous quote than Albert Einstein himself did when he opened his mouth to utter it.
