If you really believe that you’re a Microsoft Office expert, think again. A 17-year-old Briton has officially become the world champion at using Microsoft Word 2007.

Kieran Youngman, a student at Sawtry Community College in Cambridgeshire, has come out on top in a global Word 2007 competition after winning the final Washington DC against other 100 competitors.

According to BBC, he won a $5,000 (€3700) prize and a trophy, while also catching the eye of top employers across the world.

"Career-wise I think it will show any employers I know how to use a Microsoft Office product. There's no other way to prove you know exactly what you're talking about, without certification. Certification is validation you know what you're doing.

With school, I'll be able to write reports and essays and stuff and make it a bit more fancy, to hopefully get a few extra marks,” he said after winning the first place.
