17 Inch iMac G5 Already History?

Surprisingly, the 17 inch iMac G5 is not available for purchase anymore from the Apple Online Store, and there are many reports of them becoming unavailable in Apple's retail stores too. This is almost hard to believe since it hasn't even been a month since Apple announced the new Core Duo iMacs. At
the moment, the 20 inch version of the G5 iMac is still available but how long will this last? Hard to say, but judging by the speed with which the 17 version went out of stock it might not be very long at all. Anybody who wants one might want to move quickly.

The 17 inch version might still be available from other retailers and some Apple Stores, and it will probably still be found for quite some time as a refurbished product, but still the speed with which the transition is taking place is shockingly alert. However, the bad part is that software manufacturers are not nearly as fast as Apple, and some firms have some serious catching up to do, with programs that might be as far away as next year.
