The White variant sees shipping delays of 4-5 weeks

Made available on October 31, Nexus 5, the latest Google phone out there, can no longer be purchased through the US Google Play Store in a 16GB, Black flavor.

The initial stock of the device was depleted within hours of its being put up for sale, and users started seeing great delays in the shipment of ordered units.

However, it appears that Google has finally decided to list the phone as sold out, so as to catch a break and replenish inventory.

At the moment, those who would like to grab the aforementioned 16GB variant of the Black Nexus 5 will see the following message in Google Play: “We are out of inventory. Please check back soon.”

Unfortunately, the Mountain View-based Internet giant does not provide specific info regarding the return of the handset, though users might have to wait for several weeks for that to happen.

In fact, other versions of the Google phone are currently seeing delays of between two and five weeks, which suggests that the 16GB Black model might not be back in stock before December kicks off.

The 16GB White flavor of the smartphone is listed as shipping in four to five weeks, while the 32GB variant of the White Nexus 5 won’t arrive in users’ hands before November 26.

Furthermore, as BGR reports, the 32GB version of the high-end Android device will ship to customers in two or three weeks.

Unfortunately, Google does not provide specific info on how many Nexus 5 units have been sold so far, nor does it say whether more devices will be produced, so as to ensure that it does not run out of inventory again.

Nexus 5 was made official in late October with a 5-inch full HD screen, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside, an 8-megapixel rear camera, front camera for video calling, and Android 4.4 KitKat loaded on top.
