An unnamed 16-year-old was arrested by UK authorities on suspicion of being involved in the distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack on Spamhaus, an attack that’s said to be the largest in the Internet history.

According to the London Evening Standard, the youth was arrested back in April at his home in London as part of a law enforcement operation dubbed Operation Rashlike. However, his arrest was only disclosed now.

Authorities say there were significant amounts of money “flowing through his bank account.”

“The suspect was found with his computer systems open and logged on to various virtual systems and forums. The subject has a significant amount of money flowing through his bank account. Financial investigators are in the process of restraining monies,” a police document revealed.

The youth has been released on bail.

The arrest of the British teen coincided with the one of Dutchman Sven Olaf Kamphuis, also believed to be behind the attack on Spamhaus.
